237. Richard Harris – HODGKIN’S DISEASE

A famous Irish actor-singer and a notorious hellraiser, Richard Harris had worked on The Guns Of Navarone, Unforgiven, Gladiator, and many other films, including the first two Harry Potter movies. He also tried his hand in the music industry and achieved Australia and United States top chart position with his cover of McArthur Park. He faced problems with alcohol abuse and drug addiction, nearly dying of an overdose in 1978. He managed to quit drinking and drugs and lived to be 72, at which point he died of Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
