JASPER CARROTT – 77
The name Jasper Carrott is nothing new to British audiences. Not only known for his comical punches, but the funny man also went beyond the waggish scene, becoming a prolific actor, writer, producer, and TV presenter.
Jasper started performing as an MC and a singer in 1969 in his folk club, ‘The Boggery.’ There, he found astonishing success as a comedian and subsequently toured the UK and recorded the self-financed live album ‘Jasper Carrott— In the Club.’ He finally made his small-screen debut for BBC’s Midlands in 1975. More than six decades later, Jasper became the second English inductee in the “British Comedy Lifetime Achievement Award,” following his induction in the “Birmingham Walk of Stars.”
