Ihr unschuldiges Aussehen und ihr frisches Talent brachten ihr auch eine Reihe von Golden Globe-Nominierungen ein. Es wurde gemunkelt, dass Susan für einen kurzen Zeitraum in ihren Bildschirmbruder, gespielt von David Cassidy, verknallt war.
