Gregs Verhalten löste eine lebhafte Diskussion aus, bei der die Meinungen in der Nachbarschaft weit auseinander drifteten. Während einige ihm vorwarfen, egoistisch zu handeln und die Gemeinschaft zu vernachlässigen, betonte Greg energisch, dass ihm der Schutz seines Zuhauses und das Wohl seiner Familie am Herzen lägen.
Nach und nach flaute die Diskussion ab, und einige Nachbarn begannen, seine Beweggründe nachzuvollziehen. Sie erkannten, dass er sich nach mehr Privatsphäre sehnte und dankten ihm im Nachhinein sogar für die schönen Sommertage, die sie an seinem Pool hatten verbringen dürfen. Manche entschuldigten sich gar für harsche Worte, und langsam kehrte Ruhe ein.
