Toen Janny van der Heijden de hogeschool verliet, voorzien van haar diploma in Taal- en Letterkunde, had men niet verwacht dat ze een autoriteit in de culinaire wereld zou worden. Haar academische roots ten spijt, ontdekte ze haar echte roeping in de wereld van het koken. Haar pad in de gastronomie startte als redacteur voor een culinair magazine, waarna ze de overstap maakte naar tv, met bijdragen aan programma’s als Koken met Sterren en Masterchef Holland. Met een aanzienlijke lijst aan gepubliceerde kookboeken en regelmatige tv-optredens heeft ze inmiddels een vermogen dat de miljoen euro benadert.
