Cliff Michelmore fue uno de los nombres más destacados durante los primeros días de la televisión británica. Tuvo un programa en hora estelar en el canal BBC, llamado Tonight. Recibió la orden CBE como Comendador de la Orden del Imperio Británico, esto fue gracias a su trabajo como uno de los más grandes informantes en la historia de la TV. La causa de su muerte nunca fue confirmada, pero seguro que su cuenta de banco pudo cubrir su sepelio.
