Tony Burton — COMPLICATIONS D’UNE PNEUMONIE
Avant d’avoir obtenu son rôle dans le plus célèbre des films de boxe, Tony Burton avait de déjà de l’expérience dans cette discipline. Venant de Flint, Michigan, il a gagné deux importants prix de boxe en 1955 et en 1957. Il a mis de l’avant son talent à travers le personnage de Tony « Duke » Evers, qui entraîne le vétéran de boxe Apollo Creed contre le chasseur de poulets, le cogneur de viande, l’arriviste déformeur de la langue anglaise qu’est Rocky Balboa. Burton a dû se rendre fréquemment à l’hôpital durant la fin de sa vie, selon sa sœur. Il est mort à l’âge de 78 ans le 25 février 2016, de complications d’une pneumonie à l’hôpital de Menifee, en Californie.
